Wednesday 10th August 2022 at 7:45 – 10pm
You are warmly invited to attend a Sound Healing Circle with myself
and Rory, who will serve two powerful Huni Kuin medicines
from the Amazon, namely Hapé andSananga.
About Our Hapé Circle:
Once you have been welcomed into the space, there will be an opportunity for you to find your place in the room and set your intention, which is fundamental to working with Hapé. We will be together for 2 hours.
Rory is an experienced Hapé practitioner who will be offering two servings of high quality Hapé, made by Huni Kuin Pajés. We will ask you individually before you receive each of your servings if you would like a soft, medium or strong dose. If you are new to Hapé or have limited experience, working with a soft or medium dose and delivery would be well advised! For some participants a single serving may suffice, but for others a second serving later on in the circle may be welcome.
There will be adequate time for you to sit with the effects of both rounds while Farrah offers Huni Kuin chants and songs to deepen our collective prayer. Buckets, tissues and toilets will all be nearby should you need them.
Please note that Hapé can be a purgative and can open profound internal processes, this depends on many different factors. For example, where you are within yourself, your intention, your sensitivity to the tobacco, the type of sacred blow that you receive and the dose that you choose to take. From an indigenous perspective purging is considered to be cleansing in a positive way. It has the capacity to help clear blockages on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. For many, you may not feel the need to purge and this does not mean that the Hapé is not working, its effects can vary considerably with each person.
It is a beautiful medicine with an innate intelligence that has the ability to clear, align and connect. Many indigenous practitioners consider this sacred medicine to have the capability to open-up the ‘third eye’, de-calcify the pineal gland, and clear mental confusion by releasing negative thoughts; primarily by connecting the receiver to their divine breath
and directly to spirit.
Further Information About Hapé:
Hapé is a legal sacred shamanic medicine, which is pronounced ‘ha-peh’ in English, with profoundly healing and cleansing properties. It is made in a sacred and labour intensive process and consists of various Amazonian medicinal plants, trees, leaves ,seeds, and other sacred ingredients depending on the hapé blend. Hapé is made by various indigenous tribes, who originate from different South American countries – primarily Brazil and Peru. Traditionally, Hapé is applied by using a pipe, known as a ‘Tepi’ made from bamboo or bone, which is blown through each nostril. We will be serving Hapé from the Huni Kuin tribe.
Hapé is a safe yet powerful medicine, but please keep in mind if you have serious
sinus problems or an allergy to tobacco, this ceremony should be avoided. Attending the ceremony is at your own risk, and while we have never seen any serious reactions to this medicine, there is a small chance of an allergic reaction to either the tobacco or tsunu (ash of a sacred tree). Serious mental health issues such as schizophrenia or psychosis, prescription use of antidepressants or antipsychotics, pregnancy or breastfeeding would be considered contra-indications to receiving Hapé. If you have been diagnosed with any of the above conditions, are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is important that you let us know without delay. Thank you for your understanding.
What is Sananga?
Sananga is a traditional medicine of the Huni Kuin people. They use Sananga for
healing both spiritual and physical ailments, which include improving their focus and clearing out distracting energies before going on a hunt. First and foremost, Sananga has spiritual properties to clear our blocked energies, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. The more we work with the plant, the more benefits we will start to feel from it. It can seek out the root of our problems or diseases and guide us.
What is the Sananga Plant?
“Sananga” colloquially can be a generic name for juices in the format of eye drops from different plants, particularly from the two plants “Tabernaemontana Sananho” and “Tabernaemontana Undulata” which are in the “milkwood” “dogbane” family. Following the serving of these medicines you will be taken on a journey with Icaros, gongs and other percussive instruments. These powerful healing frequencies are known to quiet minds and induce deep meditative states. The therapeutic application of tones, harmonics and frequencies will help to bring harmony and health into your life.
Kindly note doors open at 7:45pm to start at 8pm. Due to a prior yoga class we kindly ask for people not to arrive before 7:45pm.
You are advised to fast (just water) for at least one hour before the circle and only consume a light supper, avoiding processed and fried foods. Please wear comfortable clothing. Yoga mats, eye masks and blankets are provided by held.
The ticket price for this event is £50.
